Rig EK via EITEST from 31.184.193.168 delivers Vawtrak

NOTES:

  • Today I captured traffic from the Rig Exploit Kit (EK) which delivered Vawtrak banking malware via the EITEST campaign.
  • The traffic and payload is consistent with Vawtrak banking malware.
  • I have not seen Vawtrak distributed via an exploit kit since May 23rd 2016.
  • EITEST is now obfuscating its injected script on compromised hosts.

I have added a zipped pcap file for your analysis. The password is the usual used by malware researchers. If you do not know it please email me.
